Is there any recent evidence that supplemental DHA/EPA may help against eczema?
A recent German study in adults with atopic eczema indicated some moderate benefit when a high dose supplement of DHA (5 gm /day) was taken for a 8 week period. The authors pointed out that additional studies were needed before such clinical use could be recommended. A very recent study from Norway indicated that introducing fish in the diet at approximately 9 months of age (at least one serving per week) may protect against eczema and doctor-diagnosed asthma at 2 years of age.
