Are you aware of any human studies on a low DHA omega-3 status in male sperm being related to infertility?

Yes! Published studies from Europe and Canada several years ago found significantly lower levels of DHA in the sperm of infertile men. Interestingly, the blood levels of DHA were not different suggesting an impedient of DHA assimilation into the sperm . Subsequent studies using DHA supplementation in such males for 3 months resulted in an expected large rise in blood DHA levels ; however, the DHA levels in the sperm did not rise significantly and no improvement in sperm motility was found.
